[Charles M. Brown] One of the wonderful attributes of the diode array should be the production of air conditioning and electrical power simultaneously. Relief in a warm climate is then better than free. This is new economic territory. People there can then have a reliable and well deserved small monetary income by exporting electrical power while gaining the comfort of cooling. Cooling food at markets or home is no longer a severe expense. Furthermore food storage refrigeration can be made resistant to network failure by either being independent or having emergency electric power dissipaters on the surviving local islands of a disrupted network. Elevators and escalators can have very reliable local power too. Meanwhile, people in cold climates can have a reliable and well deserved allotment of electricity. Pricing here is tricky because refrigeration pushes out electric power.
Summary: New economics of cooling. Reliable cooling and power.
