Charles M. Brown? An electronic product developer quoted $10,000 to mount a die on a chip carrier. They want to proceed with great care so many experts are involved. Many issues would be insensitive to the size of the order batch so perhaps it would be wise to make a dozen chips for $20,000 including the cost of the dies. One 1T7 die costs $500. There may be a steep quantity discount. A prototype batch would be more confidence inspiring and less risky than a single prototype.

Michael Huff, mhuff@mems-exchange.org ,a gatekeeper at MEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange, quoted $50,000 to produce a nanofabricated prototype.

Should grassroots people be asked for $10 - $100 or a few angels be asked for thousands?
